WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TASHA'S YOGA CLASSES

New to Vinyasa Yoga? Or new to Yoga in general? Either way, you’re very welcome! Here’s what you can expect from a session with me, so you can be prepared and get the most out of your Yoga experience.

BEFORE CLASS...

It’s best to practice yoga on an empty (or emptyish!) stomach. This is because we often practise twists and forward folds, which can be uncomfortable on a full stomach. So avoid eating a couple of hours before class – or have a light ‘n’ healthy snack to keep you going.

WHAT TO BRING...

Feel free to bring water and maybe a light jumper/some socks for our Deep Relaxation (savasana) practice at the end of class. This position calms down the nervous system and helps to integrate the poses we’ve done during class for enhanced wellbeing. Often students’ favourite posture! 😉

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED...

I'll provide yoga mats and any probps that will be needed in class - but of course, if you'd prefer to bring your own mat, you're welcome to do so.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE...

I’ll be there to welcome you. Just remove your shoes and socks before you enter the yoga space (or when on the mat if we're outdoors) and make yourself comfortable! Oh, and please arrive 10 minutes before class so you have time to settle in!

DURING THE CLASS...

If you have any injuries, please inform me at the start of class or if there's something I should be aware of so I can guide you safely through your practice. Remember though, to listen to your own body – you’re your own best teacher! Please don’t push yourself and take a rest in child’s pose (which I’ll demonstrate) whenever you need to.

You might not be able to do all of the poses and that’s ok. It’s why Yoga is called a “practice”, after all! Try to let go of any expectations and simply enjoy the process as you make progress!

ANYTHING ELSE?

Each class includes some breathing techniques (pranayama) and a short meditation to help you relax, to focus on your practice and to leave the outside world outside!
